To create entrepreneurs, generate eco-friendly business ideas, and express the creative talents of the students, the ‘Students’ Entrepreneurship Exhibition’ was organised on January 16, 2023, at the initiative of Kamrul Hasan, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing, Chittagong University.
Students of the 2018-19 session of the department showcased their various eco-friendly reusing and recycling business ideas in the exhibition on the premises of the Marketing department of the university. The Chairman of the Marketing Department, Dr. Tunazzina Sultana, inaugurated the exhibition.
She said, “We are delighted to be able to do such a program. Such programs will further accelerate the creative talents of the students and play a role in creating entrepreneurship. In the future, we will try to organise more such programs. So that students get the opportunity to learn these things practically.”
The students showcased various eco-friendly business ideas for the green environment by reusing and recycling various wastes that pollute the environment. From used matches to vegetable market’s leftover vegetables, cigarette residues, plastics, and garment jute, Students tried to highlight through various business ideas how to make themselves an entrepreneur by reusing and recycling various wastes that pollute the environment. Students believe these ideas will reduce environmental pollution, the biggest challenge of the present world, and contribute to creating a clean environment.
With the participation of students from different departments of the Faculty of Business Administration of the university, the Chairman of the Accounting Department, the Chairman of the HRM Department, other teachers from the Marketing Department, and many others were also present at the exhibition.
While observing the exhibition and the ideas of the students, the Chairman of the Accounting Department of the university, Dr. Mohammad Ayub Islam, said, “This is an excellent and effective initiative. We need this kind of program to create entrepreneurs who will greatly contribute to building a prosperous country.”
Students were elated and motivated to participate in a program beyond academic knowledge. All the teachers, students, and other people at the exhibition felt that more young entrepreneurs would have been created in the country if such programs had been done more often.
