The event was organized by the Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC), which has been implementing the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (UN WSIS) action lines in Bangladesh since 2006.

The competition brought together young innovators to develop technological solutions addressing the growing challenge of digital harassment and abuse.

Team ULAB’s winning project, the NIRBHOY Ecosystem, transforms smartphones into privacy-first forensic tools to support victims of digital harassment. The solution integrates live evidence collection secured by blockchain technology, ensuring that data remains tamper-proof and legally reliable. Advanced AI features, including deepfake detection and Error Level Analysis (ELA), address misinformation and false reporting, while a mental health support system and risk assessment alerts prioritise user wellbeing.

Following a rigorous evaluation, the jury panel declared Team ULAB the winner, recognising their commitment to responsible and impactful technological solutions that advance digital safety and gender justice.

The team expressed gratitude to their mentor, Professor Muhammad Golam Kibria, Head of the CSE Department at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, whose guidance was pivotal in shaping the project. The winning members, Saiful Islam and Md. Fahad Al Noman, were lauded for their collaboration and dedication, which led to this remarkable achievement.
