UNYSAB Rajshahi division holds closing ceremony of “Eid for Street Children 2026”
The closing ceremony and gift distribution of “Eid for Street Children 2026,” one of the signature initiatives of the United Nations Youth and Students Associations of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) Rajshahi Division, was held at the TSCC premises of the University of Rajshahi.
During the event, new Eid clothes, food items, and various gifts were distributed among more than a hundred underprivileged and street children from different areas of Rajshahi. The organisers said the initiative was aimed at sharing the joy of Eid with all members of society.
The programme was attended by Professor Md Moin Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the University of Rajshahi, as the chief guest.
Special guests included Professor Md Mahbubur Rahman, Proctor of the University of Rajshahi; Professor Md Amirul Islam Konok, Student Adviser; Professor Md Sazzadur Rahim; Professor Zahurul Anis; and Rashedul Islam Sajeeb, Lifetime Alumni of UNYSAB Rajshahi Division.
Since its inception in 2014, UNYSAB Rajshahi Division has been working to inspire young people towards leadership, awareness, and social responsibility. The organisation’s activities mainly focus on two areas: social welfare initiatives supporting underprivileged communities and leadership and skill development programmes for youth.
As part of its social welfare initiatives, the organisation regularly arranges humanitarian programmes such as “Eid for Street Children,” “Project Clean and Care,” and “Week for Humanity.”
Leadership and skill development initiatives such as the “National Youth Leadership Summit,” “UNYSAB MUN,” “National Talent Fest,” and “Talent Hunt” provide important platforms for youth development.
Organisers said the successful implementation of the event was made possible through the dedication of young volunteers, the support of students and well-wishers, and the encouragement of people from different segments of society.
They also expressed hope that UNYSAB Rajshahi Division will continue organising humanitarian and development-oriented activities by engaging youth in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
