A total of 6,558 candidates have passed the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) written examination.

The announcement was made in a notice issued by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Wednesday.

The written exams were held from 23 to 31 January 2024.

BPSC published the circular for the 45th BCS on 30 November 2022. Results of the preliminary examination were announced on 6 June 2023, with 12,789 candidates qualifying for the written stage.

Out of 346,000 applicants for the preliminary examination, 268,119 appeared for the test, while 78,803 were absent—yielding an attendance rate of 77.24 percent.

Under the 45th BCS, a total of 2,309 cadre posts will be filled, along with 1,022 non-cadre positions. Of the cadre posts, the highest number, 539 will be recruited in the medical field, including assistant and dental surgeons. The education cadre will see 437 appointments, followed by 274 in the administration cadre, 80 in the police, and 54 in customs.
