Government to award talent pool and general scholarships to SSC graduates

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has requested information on regular students who passed the 2025 SSC examinations for the distribution of talent pool and general scholarships under the revenue budget.
According to a letter sent by DSHE yesterday (7 August), the required information must be submitted by 14 August in the prescribed format, both via email ([email protected]) and in hard copy, addressed to the Director General of DSHE. The letter has been sent to all education board chairmen.
The format calls for details on the total number of regular SSC candidates, the number of regular students who passed, the number of GPA-5 achievers, and the number of students who passed without a GPA-5.
Each year, the government awards scholarships to 10,500 students based on HSC results. Among them, 1,125 students receive merit scholarships and 9,375 receive general scholarships. Merit scholarship holders are granted a monthly stipend of Tk825 along with an annual lump sum of Tk1,800, while general scholarship recipients receive Tk375 per month and an annual lump sum of Tk750.
