Just days after announcing his retirement from playback singing, Arijit Singh has returned to the recording studio to sing for an upcoming film produced by Aamir Khan and his production house.

Aamir Khan Productions today (9 February) shared a photo of Aamir with Arijit on its Instagram handle, expressing gratitude for the singer’s contribution.

“Thank you, Arijit, for bringing so much heart to the music of Ek Din,” the caption read.

The text on the photo also added a message from Aamir himself, which read, “Thank you, Arijit, for lending your voice to our film Ek Din. The four days spent with you, your family, and your team felt magical. Love, a.”

The post follows Aamir’s recent four-day visit to Arijit’s hometown of Jiaganj in Murshidabad, West Bengal — a development that had already sparked excitement among fans last week.

Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din stars Aamir’s son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi and is expected to be released in May.

On 27 January, Arijit announced his retirement from playback singing, while clarifying that he would continue working on independent music.

Last Sunday, he performed at Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium with sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar and percussionist Bickram Ghosh.
