Jobs Description: 

• Conduct and develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses in core and elective areas of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial and Production Engineering. This includes delivering theoretical lectures, conducting laboratory sessions, and overseeing design projects within an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework.
• Pursue active research aligned with departmental priorities, contributing to both fundamental and applied engineering challenges in manufacturing, production systems, mechanical design, or related interdisciplinary areas.
• Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis/project students and contribute to advancing research that addresses real-world engineering problems in manufacturing processes, product development, industrial systems optimization, or mechanical systems analysis.
• Publish research articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present findings at top-tier national and international conferences.
• Perform assigned departmental tasks, including committee work, accreditation-related work, research proposal, laboratory management, and other duties as assigned by the university authority.

Competencies and Skills:

• The candidate must hold a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), or a closely related engineering discipline, along with an M.Sc. in a relevant field, with outstanding academic performance as per the qualification criteria of IUT and a strong research record. Candidates with a Ph.D. will be given preference.
• The research profile should demonstrate expertise in one or more areas relevant to ME or IPE disciplines, including but not limited to manufacturing systems, advanced materials processing, thermal-fluid systems, mechatronics, industrial automation, operations research, quality engineering, or supply chain management.
• Teaching expertise, research skills, and professional experiences of the candidate must match the criteria mentioned in the relevant sections of this circular.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are expected, along with the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary research and teaching environments.

Specialization / Discipline

• Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), with specialization in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing processes and systems, advanced manufacturing and automation, thermal and fluid engineering, design and simulation, industrial systems optimization, production planning and control, ergonomics and human factors, quality assurance, or supply chain and operations management.

Education and Experience

a) The candidate must possess a 4 (four) years B.Sc. Engg. or equivalent degree in a relevant branch of Engineering obtained from a recognized university/institution with minimum CGPA of 3.75 out of 4.0 scale.

b) The candidate must possess a M.Sc. Engg. or equivalent degree in the relevant branch of engineering obtained from a recognized university/institution with minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 scale plus minimum 03 (three) years of active teaching experience in recognized university/institution in the post of lecturer and/or above or 2 years active service as Lecturer + 2 years active services as Junior Lecturer or 2year Active Service as Lecturer + 2 Years professional services .

Or

The candidate must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution plus minimum 01 (one) year of active teaching experience in a recognized university/institution in the post of lecturer and/or above.

Or

The candidate must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution plus minimum 02 (two) years of Postdoctoral research experience in a recognized university/institution.

c) Publications: The candidate must have minimum 03 (three) indexed journals. Among the indexed journals, at least 01 (one) shall be as “First Author”.

Languages:

Sound knowledge in writing and speaking English language. Preference would be given to the candidates having knowledge in other OIC official languages i.e. French and Arabic.

• To be free of diseases and infirmities that may hinder the exercise of his/her duties;
