Nari Maitree (NM) is a women-led, non-governmental organisation that began its journey in 1983. Over the past 43 years, it has gained extensive experience working in various sectors, including health and nutrition, adolescents and youth, gender equality and equity, women’s empowerment, child rights, livelihood, education, water and sanitation, humanitarian response, climate change, and food security.

Programme Background:
Nari Maitree has been working in urban contexts for many years with the most vulnerable and marginalised groups to improve their economic and social status by addressing the root causes of extreme poverty. Currently, Nari Maitree is implementing a five-year (2023–2027) livelihood graduation programme in the Dhaka South City Corporation titled “Urban Green Graduation Programme.”

The programme’s overall goal is to ensure that urban extreme poor households can sustainably meet their basic needs and strengthen their coping strategies through livelihoods that value the natural environment. The programme is being implemented with technical and financial support from Concern Worldwide and Irish Aid.

Nari Maitree is inviting applications from qualified and committed development professionals for the following position:

Position: Enumerator
Number of Positions: 07
Contract Duration: 10 days

Note:

  • 7 days for data collection (BDT 2,000 daily — food, communication, and conveyance all-inclusive)
  • 3 days for training (BDT 1,000 daily for conveyance allowance; food and others included in training)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collect midline evaluation data from households of Cohort 2 beneficiaries.
  • Engage with respondents in person to gather necessary information.
  • Assist individuals in completing forms accurately and ensure questions are understood.
  • Document responses precisely, using digital data entry tools or paper forms as required.
  • Pay close attention to respondent answers to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Verify information with fellow enumerators or review completed questionnaires to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Obtain consent from individuals or households before beginning data collection.
  • Record answers using smartphones or tablets.
  • Keep supervisors informed about progress and challenges encountered during data collection.
  • Maintain effective communication with respondents and team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Operate mobile applications or other software for data input and management.
  • Enter and manage collected data accurately using digital platforms (DDG app).
  • Review daily submissions and troubleshoot any issues to ensure appropriateness of data.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a government-approved university.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in field-level data collection.
  • Good understanding skills in both English and Bangla.
  • Technical knowledge of online data collection, tablet, and app usage.
  • Ability to engage and work effectively with ultra-poor and diverse communities.
  • Willingness to work long hours in challenging and congested urban environments, including walking or travelling between households.
  • Prior experience in data collection, surveys, community mobilisation, and digital tools.
