Program/Enterprise Description

BRAC Social Innovation Lab (SIL) is dedicated to testing new ideas, sharing insights, and crowdsourcing solutions to address complex social problems. As part of the world’s largest development organization, SIL has been a knowledge and experimentation hub since 2011, supporting BRAC in tackling future challenges and fostering innovation across its operations. Project/Unit Description

Interns will work closely with the Business Innovation Unit, which supports emerging impact enterprises, promotes an innovation-driven culture within the BRAC ecosystem, and crowdsources ideas that can evolve into impactful businesses. Interns will also contribute to the Frugal Innovation Forum (FIF), an event that celebrates low-cost innovations and brings together innovators, practitioners, and implementers to exchange knowledge.

Purpose of Internship

This internship offers an opportunity to develop practical skills in partnership building and collaboration. Interns will gain experience in pre-and post-event management, improve their report-writing abilities, and acquire insights into how to navigate professional environments. Furthermore, interns will gain exposure to the impact enterprise ecosystem, learning about the processes and strategies that drive social innovation and sustainable business development.

Intern’s Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and communication initiatives
  • Assist with event preparation, coordination, and execution
  • Support partnership and collaboration efforts, including logistics and coordination
  • Document and report on ongoing projects and events
  • Provide administrative and operational support as needed by senior management

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Experience in content writing is preferred
  • Previous involvement in volunteering or organizing events/clubs is advantageous
  • Interested in working with social businesses and impact enterprises
  • Participation in events, conferences, or competitions is a plus
  • Knowledge of graphic design is an added advantage
