Legal Coordinator | Rupayan Group

Position: Legal Coordinator (Equivalent to Asst. Manager)

Responsibilities & Context

Scope and General Purpose
The Legal Officer will monitor, regulate, approve plans, and execute all legal activities of Rupayan Group and its concerns to the required standards, within agreed budgetary limits, and in line with industry practices.

Job Objective

  • Collaborate between the legal team, workforce, and management to develop performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Maximise efficiency and productivity within the legal function through process analysis and cross-department collaboration.
  • Coordinate with company heads in preparing financial and budgetary plans for legal activities.
  • Analyse current legal processes and performance, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary.

Main Duties

  1. Contract & Document Management
    • Draft, review, and prepare agreements related to property sales, leases, joint ventures, and partnerships.
    • Ensure all contracts align with legal standards and company policies.
    • Maintain a central database of legal documents for easy retrieval.
    • Track contract renewal dates, expirations, and compliance milestones.
  2. Legal Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure projects comply with property, construction, zoning, and environmental laws.
    • Coordinate with government offices for permits, registrations, and approvals.
    • Monitor changes in laws affecting the real estate sector and update management accordingly.
    • Assist in mitigating risks by flagging legal concerns before transactions are finalised.
  3. Litigation & Dispute Support
    • Liaise with external lawyers on ongoing cases (e.g., land disputes, tenant issues, contract breaches).
    • Gather evidence, prepare case files, and coordinate court or arbitration schedules.
    • Keep internal teams informed on case progress and legal risks.
  4. Liaison & Communication
    • Serve as a contact point between the company and external law firms, regulators, and stakeholders.
    • Coordinate between internal departments (sales, finance, construction) and legal counsel to resolve issues.
    • Facilitate communication for land acquisition, due diligence, and regulatory clearances.
  5. Due Diligence in Real Estate Transactions
    • Verify ownership documents, title deeds, and encumbrance certificates before purchases or sales.
    • Assist in property registration, mortgage documentation, and tax clearance.
    • Support the acquisition team in conducting site and legal inspections.
  6. Administrative & Reporting Duties
    • Maintain legal expense budgets and track invoice payments for legal services.
    • Prepare regular legal status reports for senior management.
    • Keep records of compliance audits, inspections, and dispute outcomes.
    • Any other tasks as assigned by management or relevant reporting authority.

Requirements

Education: LLB and LLM from any reputed university.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in the following business areas: Real Estate, Group of Companies, Developer.
