Position: Officer – Community Centre & Information Service Centre (CC & ISC)
Project: Sustainable Solutions and Protection for the Rohingya Community in Camps (CBP Project), funded by UNHCR
Location of posting: Ukhia/Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar
Type of contract: Fixed term
Duration of contract: Up to 31 December 2025 (with possibility of extension)

Salary and benefits: Monthly gross BDT 82,977 plus other admissible benefits (mobile and internet allowance, medical benefit, group life insurance, etc.)
Job summary
Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator – Community Centre & ISC, the Officer will ensure timely and effective delivery of activities by supporting the start-up and operation of the Community Centre in the assigned camp. Responsibilities include supervision, security, cleanliness, stock management, facilitation of activities, and timely reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee activities of the Community Centre and Information Service Centre (CC & ISC).
- Support site management, utilities, security, cleanliness, and maintenance of the centres.
- Develop the capacity of participants, volunteers, and staff members.
- Supervise and train staff of the CC & ISC to ensure performance.
- Share information, protection concerns, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
- Plan and monitor centre and non-centre-based activities in line with project goals.
- Ensure records, attendance registers, data, and inventory sheets are maintained.
- Facilitate participation of all groups, especially vulnerable populations.
- Report promptly any challenges, delays, or issues in implementation.
- Coordinate with local authorities, partners, and community representatives.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and periodic reports in required formats.
- Support financial, administrative, and monitoring compliance at the camp level.
- Ensure effective referral and case management systems.
- Build networks with service providers and strengthen documentation processes.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Management, Community Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or relevant fields.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in humanitarian and/or development organisations, particularly in camp management or emergency programmes.
- Proven record of project management in emergency contexts.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian codes and standards (SPHERE, IASC, HAP, etc.).
Technical skills
- Strong decision-making, prioritisation, and multitasking ability.
- Gender-sensitive orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team player with cross-cultural experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, KOBO Collect, SPSS.
- Knowledge of community-based protection practices in camps.
- Previous emergency preparedness and response experience.
- Strong coordination and networking skills with government, INGOs, and local organisations.
- Experience in participatory methods and community development.
