Job Summary
The Officer – Partnership and Programme Development will support the Programme and Partnership Development Unit within the Resource Mobilisation Department of ActionAid Bangladesh. The role focuses on project design, partnership building, fundraising, donor relationship management, reporting, and documentation to advance ActionAid Bangladesh’s human rights-based mission of social justice. The post-holder will report to the Manager – Philanthropy and Private Sector Partnerships and contribute to delivering the organisation’s fundraising strategy and action plan.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Conduct scoping of potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and private sector entities to ensure a sustainable pipeline.
  • Maintain a database of supporters and donors for efficient relationship management.
  • Collaborate with teams to conduct needs assessments, develop proposals, and ensure compliance and operational viability.
  • Produce high-impact communication materials for donor engagement and brand positioning.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, both digital and in-person.
  • Engage with event participants to strengthen partnerships and raise awareness.

Donor Account Management

  • Manage fundraising partnerships and coordinate grant-related communication with relevant teams.
  • Draft and review partnership contracts to ensure compliance with organisational standards.
  • Monitor project performance and maintain quality and accountability.
  • Update ActionAid’s CMS with project information and prepare donor reports with stories of change.

Regular Giving Campaigns

  • Promote initiatives such as “Support A Child” to attract individual and corporate sponsors.
  • Develop innovative engagement strategies for local fundraising.
  • Maintain accurate records of donors and contributions.
  • Develop communication materials, child profiles, and reports to sustain donor engagement.

Insights and Knowledge Management

  • Maintain a fundraising pipeline database and prepare performance reports.
  • Document project learnings and best practices.
  • Participate in internal learning forums to share insights and foster innovation.
  • Generate digital campaign analytics and income forecasts.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations/Affairs, Development Studies, Humanities, Business Administration, Human Rights, Political Science, or a relevant discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in programme funding and partnership development, preferably in an NGO.
  • Experience working with institutional and private sector donors, and in local fundraising, will be an advantage.

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Bengali and English.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing abilities.
  • Knowledge of women’s rights, gender equality, humanitarian response, resilience, governance, youth development, and campaigns.
  • Familiarity with Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA).
  • Experience in proposal development, budgeting, and tender submissions.
  • Understanding of corporate CSR strategies for partnership development.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills in multicultural settings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
