Sr./Manager, Toll Manufacturing (FMCG) | SMC Enterprise Ltd 

Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Excellence & Smart Automation Leadership

  • Own end‑to‑end responsibility for production, maintenance, and warehousing to meet volume, quality, and cost targets in the toll and contract manufacturing sites.
  • Maximize capacity utilization of automated lines through optimized scheduling and bottleneck elimination.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput in automated processes.
  • Drive real‑time performance management using digital KPIs such as:
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Yield and scrap rates
  • Equipment uptime and line efficiency

2. Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 food safety systems across production lines.
  • Maintain robust quality assurance systems to meet product specifications and sensory standards.
  • Ensure traceability, documentation, and deviation control in digitally enabled systems.
  • Lead and close out internal and external quality audits with full compliance readiness.

3. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Champion a zero‑harm safety culture, especially critical in environments.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA/ISO safety standards.
  • Ensure machine safety, interlocks, automation guarding, and operator training.

4. Talent Development

  • Supervise plant floor staff or toll-coordination teams, providing training, enforcing safety protocols, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Create a culture of accountability, continuous learning, safety ownership, and innovation.

5. Cost Control & Capital Project Ownership

  • Own annual operating budgets (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for the toll operation.
  • Control cost variances in materials, labor, utilities, and maintenance.
  • Lead automation upgrades, line expansion, and technology investments to improve productivity and ROI.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and without disrupting operations.
  • Manage operational budgets, track tolling fees, and implement cost-reduction strategies while maintaining product integrity.

6. Supply Chain Synchronization

  • Collaborate closely with procurement to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply.
  • Maintain high-accuracy inventory control (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
  • Minimize losses, variances, and service failures.
  • Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to consistently meet customer service levels.

7. New Product & Process Development Support

  • Work with R&D and Marketing to assess manufacturing feasibility of new products early.
  • Lead trials, pilot runs, and scale‑up activities on automated equipment.
  • Ensure faster time‑to‑market by leveraging digital models and standardized process engineer

8. Any other task assigned by the Management.

Qualification & Experience

  • Master’s in Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Applied Chemistry/Pharmacy/MBA or BSc in ME/EEE/ IPE/Chemical/ Food Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in toll and contract manufacturing
  • Age maximum 45 years
  • Criteria may be relaxed for the highly deserving candidates
