United International University (UIU)

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at United International University (UIU) is inviting applications for its BSS in Environment and Development Studies programme. This interdisciplinary programme focuses on the pillars of sustainable development: environment, social, and economic development.

Admission Requirements

  • General Requirements: A minimum GPA of 2.5 (or 2nd division/equivalent) in both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations.
  • Minimum Combined GPA: Candidates with a GPA of 2.00 in either SSC or HSC must have a minimum combined GPA of 6.00.
  • English Proficiency: O-level students must have completed at least 5 subjects with an average grade point of 2.50, and A-level students must have 2 subjects with an average grade point of 2.00.
  • Freedom Fighters’ Children: Eligible for admission with a combined GPA of 5.00 in SSC and HSC examinations.

Programme Details

  • Total Credits: 123 credits.
  • Curriculum Structure: Includes 17 core courses, 11 elective courses, and a thesis/research monograph or internship.
  • Degree Requirements: Successful completion of all courses with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

  • Application Deadline: 07 January 2026 by 11:50 pm (Online).
  • Admission Test Date: 09 January 2026 (Friday) at 10:00 am.
  • Admission Test Exemption: Candidates with a GPA of 5.00 in HSC or equivalent exams are required to appear for an interview only.
  • Results Publication: 12 January 2026 at 05:00 pm.
  • Class Commencement: 28 February 2026 (Saturday).
  • Admission Fee: BDT 20,000 (Non-refundable).

Scholarships and Waivers

  • Waiver Range: UIU offers 25% to 100% tuition fee waivers based on previous results and trimester performance.
  • Top 10%: Every trimester, the top 10% of students receive these waivers.
