The Department of Geography and Environment at Jahangirnagar University has announced admissions for the 27th Batch of its intensive Master’s programme focusing on GIS for Environment and Development.
Programme Features
- Duration: One-year (3-semester) intensive master’s programme.
- Credits: 42 credit hours (including taught, practical, and research components).
- Thesis Group: 12 courses + Thesis + Fieldwork.
- Non-thesis Group: 14 courses + Fieldwork.
- Facilities: Well-equipped GIS-RS, cartographic, physical, cultural, climate, and environmental science laboratories.
- Highlights: Field excursions, research presentations, and highly qualified faculty with strong research exposure.

- Last Date of Application: 23 April 2026
- Admission Test: 24 April 2026 (Friday) at 10:00 AM
- Programme Starts: May 2026

- Offline Application: Prescribed forms are available at the Department office from Sunday to Thursday (9:00 AM – 4:30 PM) and Friday (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- At least CGPA 2.25 on a scale of 4.0 in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- 2nd Class in a 3-year Honours degree with a 1-year Master’s degree.
- 2nd Class in a 4-year Honours degree.

- Programme Cost: Approximately BDT 1,18,000 (payable in three instalments).
