DIFE launches writing and poster competition for students

To mark May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2025, the Ministry of Labour and Employment is organising both an essay writing competition and a poster competition for students at the university, college, and school levels. The initiative aims to create awareness about Occupational Health and Safety, encouraging young minds to engage with this crucial topic. Winners will receive attractive cash prizes.

The essay writing competition is open to students from universities, colleges, and schools. Participants must submit an original essay on Occupational Health and Safety, written in either Bangla or English. Submissions must be typed on A4-sized paper using a 12pt font, double-spaced. Each essay should include the participant’s name, institution, and contact details, and every student can submit only one entry.

For university students, essays should be between 2000-3000 words, while college students must keep their essays within 1500-2000 words. School students from classes 9 and 10 should write between 1000-1500 words. The top three winners from each level will receive cash prizes: Tk 20,000 for first place, Tk 15,000 for second place, and Tk 10,000 for third place in the university category. College winners will receive Tk 10,000, Tk 7,000, and Tk 5,000, while school winners will be awarded Tk 5,000, Tk 3,000, and Tk 2,000.
