The ICCR scholarship is one of the most popular funding programs for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in India. However, courses related to Medicine, Paramedical fields (such as Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Anesthesia), Fashion, and Law are not eligible under this scheme.

According to Prothom Alo, Applicants for undergraduate and master’s programs must be between 18 and 30 years old. For PhD programs, the maximum age limit is 45 years.

After admission, students will be eligible to stay in university hostels. To demonstrate English proficiency, applicants must submit a 500-word essay in English. Although TOEFL or IELTS scores may be submitted, they are not mandatory.

Applicants must upload their Secondary and Higher Secondary academic transcripts to the application portal. If any required documents are not in English, they must be officially translated before submission. Documents without English translations will not be accepted.

Scholarship recipients must obtain medical insurance coverage worth at least 500,000 Indian Rupees annually.

Each year, around 200 Bangladeshi students receive ICCR scholarships approximately 140 at the undergraduate level, 40 at the postgraduate level, and 20 at the PhD level.

The ICCR also offers the “Lata Mangeshkar Dance and Music Scholarship.” Under these initiatives, 500 additional seats have been allocated.

The scholarship is available for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs.
