The Rhodes Scholarship is one of the most prestigious international postgraduate awards, enabling outstanding students from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Established in 1902, it is awarded to exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to addressing global challenges.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a citizen of Bangladesh.
- Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 24 at the time of application.
- Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree (or expect to complete it) with a strong academic record.
- They must demonstrate leadership qualities through extracurricular activities, community involvement, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community or globally.
- Applicants should meet the University of Oxford’s entry requirements for their chosen course.
Benefits
The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the entire duration of the course. It also provides a living stipend of approximately £15,000 per year to support day-to-day expenses. In addition, recipients will receive an economy-class return airfare as a travel allowance, along with a settling-in allowance to help with initial costs. Health insurance coverage is included, and scholars will have access to mentorship and career development opportunities throughout their studies.
Choosing a Course and University
Applicants are required to apply for admission to the University of Oxford, choosing from the eligible postgraduate courses. A list of these courses can be found on the University of Oxford’s official website.
Submitting the online application

- The application form requires personal details, academic history, extracurricular involvement, and a statement of purpose.
