Soochow University, a “Double First-Class” and “2011 Plan” institution ranked among China’s top 30, invites applications for its prestigious scholarship programs for the 2026-2027 academic session.
1. SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Nationality: Non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary passport.
- Education & Age:
- Master’s Program: Bachelor’s degree holder, preferably under 35 years.
- Doctoral Program: Master’s degree holder, preferably under 40 years.
- Language Proficiency:
- Chinese Taught: HSK 5 (Score 180+) valid after June 15, 2026.
- English Taught: IELTS ≥ 6.0 / TOEFL ≥ 80 / Native Speaker / English Medium of Instruction.
Note: Applicants who apply for the CSC Scholarship but are not selected will automatically be considered for the Soochow University International Student Scholarship.
3. APPLICATION TIMELINE

4. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Passport: Info page (valid after March 1, 2027).
- Notarized Diploma: Highest degree earned or pre-graduation certificate.
- Academic Transcripts: From undergraduate level onwards (sealed/official).
- Recommendation Letters: Two letters from Professors/Associate Professors (dated after Dec 1, 2025).
- Study Plan: Minimum 1,000 words/characters.
- Acceptance Letter: Mandatory for PhD; suggested for Master’s.
- Physical Exam: Foreigner Physical Examination Form (issued after Oct 1, 2025).
- Non-Criminal Record: Issued within 6 months of application.
- Financial Guarantee: Proof of income and savings (min. $5,000 USD).
- Application Fee: 650 RMB (Non-refundable).
5. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Step 1: Apply via the Soochow University System: suda.17gz.org or iaa.suda.edu.cn.
- Step 2: Select “Chinese Government Scholarship” as the financial resource if applying for CSC.
- Step 3 (For CSC Nominees): Log into the CSC System using Agency Number: 10285 and Program Category: Type B.
