Sweden invites applications for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals, a prestigious initiative designed to build lasting partnerships for a sustainable and equitable world. This scholarship offers world-class education and cutting-edge research opportunities at Swedish universities for future leaders from Bangladesh and 33 other eligible countries.
1. KEY DATES & TIMELINE
Applicants must strictly adhere to the following schedule for the Autumn 2026 intake:

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be considered for the scholarship, candidates must fulfil the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of one of the 34 eligible countries (including Bangladesh).
- University Admission: Must apply for an eligible Master’s programme and be liable to pay tuition fees.
- Work Experience: * Applicants from Bangladesh must have at least 3,000 hours of work experience prior to February 2026 (accumulated from a maximum of three employers).
- Leadership Experience: Must demonstrate leadership from current or previous employment or civil society engagement (e.g., mandate to influence strategy, allocating tasks, or decision-making).
- Academic Suitability: Must be admitted to an eligible English-taught Master’s programme by 26 March 2026.
3. SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS (FULLY FUNDED)
The scholarship is highly competitive and provides comprehensive financial support:
- Tuition Fees: Full coverage paid directly to the Swedish university.
- Monthly Allowance: SEK 12,000 for living expenses throughout the study period.
- Travel Grant: A one-time payment of SEK 15,000 (for scholars from Bangladesh).
- Professional Networking: Membership in the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP) and the Sweden Alumni Network.
4. FIELDS OF STUDY
The scholarship supports one- or two-year Master’s programmes in diverse fields, including but not limited to:
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- Governance
- Public Health
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
5. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS
- Application Fee: Applicants must pay the application fee to University Admissions in Sweden by the stipulated deadline. The SI scholarship does not cover this fee.
- Programme Choice: Scholarship awards are only valid for the specific programme to which the applicant is admitted on the first admissions day.
- Documentation: Use only official SI templates for work and leadership certificates. These will be published in mid-November.
- Sustainability Focus: Applicants should clearly demonstrate how their chosen education contributes to the sustainable development of their home country and region.
