The University of Science and Technology (UST), South Korea, invites applications from international students for its fully-funded graduate scholarship programs. UST offers a unique research-oriented education system in collaboration with 30 national research institutes.

1. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

  • Nationality: Applicant and both parents must be Non-Korean citizens.
  • Health: Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Restrictions: Applicants cannot receive any other scholarship in Korea simultaneously.
  • Relocation: Must be able to relocate to South Korea by March 2026.

2. DEGREE-WISE REQUIREMENTS

3. ACADEMIC & RESEARCH BACKGROUND

Candidates from STEM backgrounds are highly preferred. Priority fields include:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics
  • Biotechnology & Environmental Science
  • Physics, Chemistry & Nanotechnology
  • Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacology

Note on Academic Merit: While there is no official GPA cutoff, competitive candidates typically hold a GPA above 3.0/4.0 (80%+). Strong research experience or a compelling Statement of Purpose (SOP) may compensate for an average GPA.

4. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Applicants must submit proof of English proficiency through one of the following:

  • Standardized Tests: IELTS, TOEFL, or TEPS.
  • MOI Certificate: A letter confirming the Medium of Instruction was English (subject to specific institute acceptance).

5. FINANCIAL BENEFITS (FULLY FUNDED)

  • Full Tuition Waiver and entrance fee coverage.
  • Monthly Stipend:
    • Master’s: KRW 1,430,000
    • PhD: KRW 1,900,000
  • Additional Benefits: Medical insurance, Korean language course fees, and research paper awards.
