Study in India: ICCR Scholarship Scheme 2024-25

The High Commission of India, Dhaka is pleased to publicise a notification for Suborno Jayanti Scholarship & Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship. This scholarship under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship Scheme for the Academic Year 2024-25, have been announced for the benefit of meritorious Bangladeshi nationals to pursue various courses in Indian Universities/ Institutes for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) level, in all fields except in Medicine/ Paramedical (Nursing/ Physiotherapy/ Anaesthesia etc.)/ Fashion/ Law courses/ Integrated courses such as BALLB (5 Years)/B.Sc. & M.Sc. (5 Years) etc.

Candidates who desire to apply for ICCR Scholarship may log on to URL https://www.sjsdhaka.gov.in and create an individual login ID and password for submitting the application online. The following points may please be noted:

  1. Applicants of undergraduate/postgraduate courses should be between 18-40 years of age and for PhD programme, the age limit is 50 years.
  2. Applying candidates should have no serious physical and mental issues.
  3. For candidates who are applying for BE/BTech Courses, the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) are compulsory in 11 and 12 Grades (SSC,HSC/O Level, A Level).
  4. All students have to stay in the campus hostels (if available). No exception for family/ health reasons to stay outside of the campus will be entertained.
  5. Applicants will have the option to apply to five Universities/ Institutes in order of their preference.
  6. A 500 word essay in English has been introduced to ascertain English proficiency. Besides, students can also submit his/her TOFEL/ IELTS etc. Standardised Test scores, if available. Universities/Institutes may conduct interview of the applicants online, if so required.
  7. Mark sheets for each i.e. level 10 and 10+2 equivalent level of School/College should be uploaded along with transcripts in English. The applications will not be considered without English translation of documents if original documents are not in English.
  8. It is compulsory for all ICCR Scholarship students to procure Medical insurance policy with minimum sum assured for Indian Rupees Five Lakhs per annum. It may also be mentioned that ICCR may amend some provisions of scholarships from time to time and it is incumbent on students to accept the revised norms.
  9. Students may visit respective website of University/ institute for checking the courses offered, eligibility criteria and general information about the University/institute, before applying for admission.
  10. Students are required to obtain the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalence, if required. This would be stipulated by the concerned University/Institute in their Provisional Confirmation letter for the applicant (uploaded on A2A Portal). The student may apply for the equivalence certificate at the link https://evaluation.aiu.ac.in/student/login and bear the fees incurred on obtaining the certificate at own expense (non-reimbursable). If the University/Institute requires AIU equivalent certificate, it is incumbent upon the student to first procure the equivalence certificate before applying for visa, if selected.
