University of Melbourne: Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship
This prestigious scholarship is automatically awarded to high-achieving international students commencing undergraduate studies at the University of Melbourne.
Eligibility
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand (not a permanent resident).
- Have completed secondary school outside Australia or a foundation programme in Australia.
- Hold an unconditional offer for an undergraduate programme at the University of Melbourne.
- Achieve exceptional academic results in your secondary school leaving exams (refer to specific requirements below).
- Not have undertaken any previous tertiary studies (excluding high school extension programmes).
Academic requirements by country
Specific requirements vary depending on your country and type of high school qualifications. Contact the Offshore Recruitment Team for details.
Generally, a minimum score in the top 3% is required (e.g., at least 97% overall or equivalent).
Benefits (awarded based on selection score)
- Tier 1: $10,000 tuition fee remission for the first year.
- Tier 2: 50% tuition fee remission for the entire undergraduate degree (3 years).
- Tier 3: 100% tuition fee remission for the entire undergraduate degree (3 years).
Selection criteria
- Selection scores are based on prior academic results and may vary by year.
- Students with the highest scores receive the most significant benefits.
Application process
- No separate application is required.
- You will be automatically considered upon receiving an unconditional course offer.
Notification
- You will be notified of the scholarship outcome within 2-3 weeks of receiving your unconditional offer.
- Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
