Stanford University’s “World’s Top 2% Scientists list” is a prestigious ranking that highlights the most influential researchers across a broad range of scientific fields.
The listed individuals represent a variety of organisations and academic institutions in Bangladesh, including Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, American International University – Bangladesh, Atomic Energy Centre, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, BRAC University, Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Dhaka University, East West University, Independent University Bangladesh, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research Bangladesh, Islamic University of Technology, Jahangirnagar University, Military Institute of Science and Technology, North South University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, and United International University.
The “Top 2%” is chosen through several criteria. This composite score is based on bibliometric parameters including total citations, h-index, and citations with and without self-citations. Scientists are divided into 22 areas and 176 subfields. Only top 2% subfield performers are listed. Both career-long impact and single-year performance are ranked to provide insights on long-term contribution and recent achievements.
