103,611 candidates sat for the test against 2,934 available seats under the unit. Of them, 7,553 candidates passed.
Dhaka University has published the results of the undergraduate admission test for the Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit for the 2024-25 academic year, with more than 93% of examinees failing to qualify.
The results were released this afternoon (20 January) through the university’s admission website. The overall pass rate stood at just 7.29%. Candidates can check their results at admission.eis.du.ac.bd.
Confirming the figures to The Business Standard, Professor Md Shariful Islam, convener of the university’s admission test committee, said only a small fraction of applicants met the qualifying criteria.
University admission office sources said a total of 103,611 candidates sat for the test against 2,934 available seats under the unit. Of them, 7,553 candidates passed.
Of the total seats, 962 are allocated for science background students, 278 for business studies, and 1,694 for humanities students. The results have been prepared following three separate merit lists based on academic background.
Meanwhile, a press release from the university’s public relations office said successful candidates will be able to fill in their detailed application and subject preference forms from 3pm on 27 January to 3pm on 5 February.
Applicants seeking admission under various quota categories will have to collect quota-specific forms from the dean’s office of the Faculty of Social Sciences between 1 and 5 February, complete them properly, and submit them within the stipulated time.
Candidates wishing to apply for result re-scrutiny may do so by paying the prescribed fee between 21 and 27 January 2026 at the Faculty of Social Sciences dean’s office.
