Admission Applications for Top Three Universities Starting Next Sunday (January 5th)

The admission application process for undergraduate programs at three leading universities in Bangladesh is set to begin next Sunday, January 5th, 2024. This includes institutions that have opted out of the unified (Guccho) admission system. Students will incur significant expenses for these applications.

Rajshahi University (RU)

  • The initial application for the first-year undergraduate (honours) programs at Rajshahi University for the 2024-25 academic year will run from noon on Sunday, January 5th, to 11:59 PM on January 16th.
  • The final application process will occur in various phases from January 20th to February 20th.
  • Admission tests will be held on the campuses of public universities in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, and Rangpur:
    • ‘B’ Unit (likely humanities/business studies) on April 12th.
    • ‘A’ Unit (likely science) on April 19th.
    • ‘C’ Unit (likely commerce/business administration) on April 26th.
    • All exams will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Students who passed HSC or equivalent exams in 2023 and 2024 can apply to all three units based on eligibility. Regardless of the unit used to, the eligibility criteria will be based on the stream (science, arts, commerce) from which they passed their HSC exams.

Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET)

  • CUET has published its admission notice for Level-1 undergraduate courses for the 2024-25 academic year.
  • Admissions will be offered for 920 seats across nine departments.
  • The online application process will begin at 9:00 AM on January 5th and end at 11:59 PM on January 18th (Saturday).
  • The deadline for fee payment is 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 19th.
  • At 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 23rd, a list of eligible candidates, including their roll numbers and names, will be published.
  • Admit card downloads will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 27th.
  • The admission test will be held on February 1st.
  • In addition to the 920 seats, 11 additional seats are reserved: one for the Rakhine community and ten for ethnic minorities (tribes) from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other districts.

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST)

  • SUST has announced the revised dates for its undergraduate admission tests for the 2024-25 academic year.
  • The application process will begin on January 5th until January 25th.
  • Admission tests will be held on February 28th:
    • ‘B’ Unit (Science, Humanities, and Commerce) at 10:00 AM.
    • ‘A’ Unit (Science) at 3:00 PM.
  • Application fees are:
    • A-1 Unit (Science): 1250 BDT
    • A-2 Unit (Science and Architecture): 1400 BDT
    • B Unit (Science, Humanities, Commerce): 1200 BDT
  • To reduce student hardship, the academic council has decided to hold exams in major divisional cities, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet.
