Applications for undergraduate admissions at Comilla University for the academic year 2024-25 have started yesterday (2 February). The admission tests will take place on 19 April and 3 May. The application fee is Tk1,000.
Since the 2020-21 academic year, Comilla University has been admitting students through the cluster admission system. However, this year, the university will conduct its own admission tests.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who have passed the HSC/Alim or equivalent examinations in 2020/2024 and SSC/Dakhil or equivalent examinations in 2020/2021/2022 may apply under certain conditions.
‘A’ Unit (Faculty of Science and Engineering)
• Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 8 (including the fourth subject) in SSC and HSC from the science stream, with at least a GPA of 3.5 in each exam.
• For admission to Mathematics, CSE, ICT, Physics, and Statistics, students must have at least a GPA of 3 in Mathematics at the HSC level.
• Candidates aiming for admission to Mathematics, CSE, or ICT must answer Mathematics questions in the admission test.
• Applicants for the Chemistry department must have a GPA of 3.5 in Chemistry and 2.5 in Mathematics at the HSC level.
• For Pharmacy, students must have a GPA of 3.5 in both Chemistry and Biology and at least 2.5 in Mathematics at the HSC level.
‘B’ Unit (Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Law)
• Applicants must have a minimum combined GPA (including the fourth subject) of:
o 6.0 for Humanities
o 7.0 for Science
o 6.5 for Business Studies
• A minimum GPA of 3 is required separately in both SSC and HSC.
• Applicants for the English department must have at least an A- grade in English at the HSC level.
• Candidates applying for Economics must have studied Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics at the HSC level.
‘C’ Unit (Faculty of Business Studies)
• Science students must have a combined GPA of 7 (including the fourth subject), with at least a GPA of 3.5 in each SSC and HSC examination.
• Business Studies students must have a combined GPA of 6.5, with a minimum of 3.0 in both SSC and HSC.
• Humanities students must have a combined GPA of 6, with a minimum of 3.0 in both SSC and HSC.
GCE O-Level and A-Level Candidates
• Candidates must have passed at least five subjects in O-Level and two subjects in A-Level, with a minimum of four subjects securing a grade of ‘B’ or higher.
Additional information
• All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (including the fourth subject) in both SSC and HSC.
• Candidates wishing to sit for the exam in English must submit a handwritten application, including their mobile number, to the respective unit coordinator via postal mail at least 15 days before the admission test.
