Clash erupts between Dhaka Medical doctors, DU students; emergency services suspended

A clash broke out between doctors of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and students of Dhaka University this afternoon (8 April), prompting authorities to suspend emergency medical services citing security concerns. 

Confirming the matter, Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, said the clash follows a scuffle between on-duty doctors and some students from DU. 

Ashik Ehsan, resident surgeon at DMCH, said the clash is still ongoing.
