Confusion over duplicate roll numbers in SUST admission results

The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has published its 2024–25 first-year admission test results, with the highest score in the A Unit (Science) reaching 92.8 out of 100. However, discrepancies in the published list have led to confusion among applicants, as multiple roll numbers appear more than once.

For instance, roll number 2105549 and rank 4870 were listed twice, along with several other duplicate entries. Concerned students and parents have raised the issue on social media, with one guardian commenting, “My brother’s roll number is 2125027, but 2125026 appears twice. How did this happen?”

Adding to the frustration, many applicants reported being unable to access the university’s website after the results were published.

Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, secretary of the admission committee, acknowledged the issue, calling it a typing error that would not affect rankings. He assured students that the corrected results were being uploaded immediately.

Highest scores in different units:

  • A Unit (Science) – 92.8
  • B Unit (Science) – 81.6
  • B Unit (Humanities) – 85
  • B Unit (Commerce) – 75
  • A-2 Unit (Architecture) – 101.2 out of 130

This year, SUST conducted its own admission test for the first time in four years, breaking away from the cluster system. The exam was held on 28 February across five divisional cities: Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Jashore.
