Dhaka College’s higher secondary students staged a blockade in the Science Lab area today (14 October), protesting an incident of harassing teachers and demanding the cancellation of the draft ordinance to form a “Central University” that would merge the seven colleges.

The students said the move threatens the college’s distinct identity and academic independence. They also demanded proper investigation and justice over the alleged harassment of teachers and staff yesterday (13 October).

Traffic in the area came to a standstill as students occupied the road, chanting slogans and vowing to continue their protest until their demands are met.
