Dhaka University orders master’s students to vacate halls by 8 April

Dhaka University has directed master’s students of the 2018-19 session, whose results have been published, to vacate their residential halls by 8 April. The decision aims to ensure proper seat allocation for new students, according to the Provost Standing Committee.

The directive was confirmed by Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, convener of the committee and provost of Sir Salimullah Muslim Hall. Despite university rules requiring students to leave halls within two weeks of their exams, authorities have allowed them to stay until results are announced, granting an extra three to four months.

Hall authorities have already issued notices, with residential teachers informing students. Dr Mamun stated that the initiative seeks to maintain a structured accommodation system and improve living conditions in university halls.
