A new code of conduct has been issued for the 2025 Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) and hall union elections, requiring candidates to collect and submit their nomination papers in person.

According to the guidelines, no processions will be allowed during the collection or submission of nomination papers, and each candidate may be accompanied by no more than five supporters at a time.

The instructions were outlined in a notification signed by Ducsu election Chief Returning Officer Professor Mohammad Jasim Uddin today (11 August).

In a separate notification, the Election Commission stated that review and verification of the final voter list are ongoing even after its publication. Names of expelled students or those facing criminal charges will be removed from the list if sufficient evidence is found.

The last Ducsu and hall union elections were held in 2019, when the maximum age limit for candidates was 30 years. This limit has been lifted for the upcoming polls.

As per the schedule announced on 29 July, the deadline for filing nominations is 19 August, the final list of candidates will be published on 25 August, and voting will take place on 9 September.
