The final phase of undergraduate admission at universities under the General, Science and Technology (GST) cluster for the academic year 2024–25 has officially begun on 3 August. The admission process will continue until tomorrow (7 August), during which selected candidates must complete their enrolment at their respective universities.

According to an official notice, classes for first-year students will begin on 11 August across all GST-affiliated institutions, reports Prothom Alo.

Key instructions for students

The notification states that students must complete their final admission in accordance with the guidelines provided by the university where they have been selected, as mentioned in their respective student panels. If any student has already submitted their original academic transcripts to another university, they must collect and submit them to the admitted university within the designated timeframe. Admissions will not be accepted after the deadline, under any circumstances.

Each university under the cluster has published detailed admission guidelines and schedules on its official website.

One test for 19 public universities

A total of 19 public universities participated in the GST system this year. For the 2024–25 academic session, students were offered the opportunity to apply for first-year undergraduate admission through a single integrated entrance examination.

Only those who passed the entrance exam were eligible to apply to their preferred universities, based on the specific eligibility criteria set by each institution. Applicants could sit for the admission test in alignment with their higher secondary (HSC or equivalent) streams — Science, Humanities, or Business Studies — and were evaluated accordingly for placement.

For more information on the admission process, students are advised to visit the websites of their respective universities.
