The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the ‘Youth Volunteer Award 2025’ to recognise young individuals for their voluntary contributions between 2014 and 2025 in various sectors across Bangladesh.
Introduced under the Youth Organisation Act 2019, the award honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions in fields such as education, innovation, social welfare, and cultural preservation. Eligible candidates are invited to apply, with the final selection overseen by relevant authorities.
Award categories and recognition
Each recipient will receive a medal and a Tk 25,000 grant in the following categories:
- Youth Development & Employment Creation – Recognising efforts in youth empowerment and employment generation (3 awards per district).
- Education, Science, Information Technology & Innovation – For contributions in research, technological advancements, and education (3 awards per district).
- Sports, Arts, Literature & Cultural Promotion – Acknowledging contributions to sports, creative arts, and cultural enrichment (3 awards per district).
- Social Welfare & Community Service – For significant voluntary work in social welfare initiatives (3 awards per district).
- Health, Environment & Cultural Heritage Preservation – Recognising efforts in public health, environmental sustainability, and heritage conservation (3 awards per district).
Eligibility & application process
- Applicants must be Bangladeshi citizens aged 18-45.
- Only one category can be selected per applicant.
- Applications must be submitted through the district youth office, with verification from the District Commissioner or designated officials.
- A district-level committee will shortlist candidates for national consideration.
- Government employees are not eligible.
- The final list of awardees will be published on the ministry’s website (www.moysports.gov.bd).
