Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the government will provide financial assistance of up to Tk50,000 for installing CCTV cameras at educational institutions to ensure a fair and transparent examination environment.

He made the announcement today (6 April) during an awareness meeting with stakeholders held at Mymensingh Town Hall, ahead of the upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations.

The minister emphasised that surveillance systems will help monitor examination activities remotely, and recorded footage will be archived for review in case of irregularities. Institutions lacking the financial capacity to install cameras will receive support, subject to board approval.

The initiative comes alongside plans to update the Public Examinations Act of 1980 to strictly prohibit the use of digital devices and curb malpractice during public exams.
