Jahangirnagar University announces admission test dates and guidelines for candidates

Jahangirnagar University (JU) has announced the final schedule for the admission tests for the 2024-25 academic session. The tests will commence on 9 February and continue until 17 February.


According to an official notice signed by Syed Mohammad Ali Reza, Deputy Registrar (Education) and Member Secretary of the Central Admission Test Committee, the examination for Unit ‘D’ (Faculty of Biological Sciences) will take place in five shifts on 9 February, exclusively for female candidates.
The male candidates of the same unit will take their tests on 10 February in the first four shifts, while the fifth shift of that day will be reserved for the IBA-JU admission test (for both male and female candidates).


On 11 February, the admission test for Unit ‘E’ (Faculty of Business Studies) will be held in two shifts. The same day, female candidates applying for Unit ‘A’ (Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the Institute of Information Technology) will take their test in the third to fifth shifts. The male candidates for Unit ‘A’ will sit for their exams on 12 February in five shifts.


On 13 February, the Unit ‘C’ admission test, covering the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Law, and the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture, will be conducted in six shifts.


The final day of admission tests, 17 February, will begin with the Unit ‘C-1’ test (for the Department of Drama and Dramatics and the Department of Fine Arts, for both male and female candidates). The remaining three shifts will be allocated for the Unit ‘B’ admission test (Faculty of Social Sciences).
Additionally, candidates who qualify in the written test for the Department of Drama and Dramatics under Unit ‘C-1’ must attend the practical exam at 10:00am on 23 February at the university’s Drama and Dramatics department. Similarly, successful candidates for the Department of Fine Arts will take their practical exam at 11:00am on 25 February.


Candidates appearing for the practical exams in the Drama and Dramatics and Fine Arts departments must bring the required materials as per the schedule. If a candidate has practical tests for two departments at the same time, they must submit a written request to the respective department heads for rescheduling.
Important instructions for admission test candidates

OMR sheet guidelines: Candidates must use a black ballpoint pen to fill in the OMR circles. Any mistakes in filling out the sheet may lead to disqualification. Additional OMR sheets will not be provided without valid justification. The OMR sheet must not be folded, scratched, stapled, pinned, or stained with water.

Roll number and question set code: Candidates must correctly write their admission test roll number, shift details, and question paper set code in English and accurately fill in the designated fields. At the end of the exam, both the OMR sheet and the question paper must be submitted to the invigilator.

Seat plan: Candidates can check their allocated seats by downloading their admission test admit cards.

Entry time: Candidates must take their seats at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the exam.

Prohibited items: Bags, books, mobile phones, watches, calculators, or any other electronic devices are not allowed inside the examination hall. A clock will be available in the exam hall for timekeeping.

Restricted entry: Only candidates and authorised personnel will be permitted to enter the exam centre.

Result publication: The admission test results will be published within seven days of the test on ju-admission.org.

Required documents: Candidates must bring their original Secondary School Certificate (SSC) registration card along with their admission test admit card.

Transport and travel considerations: Jahangirnagar University is located 30 km from Dhaka. Candidates travelling from Dhaka or other distant locations are advised to allocate sufficient time for commuting to avoid unexpected delays due to traffic congestion. It is important to note that university transport services will not be available for candidates or their guardians.
