The deadline for applications to the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physiotherapy programme at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) for the 2024-25 academic year has been extended to 16 March. Previously, the last date for submission was 26 February.
Under the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Dhaka, NITOR offers a five-year programme, including four years of academic study and a one-year mandatory internship. This year, candidates will again have the opportunity to sit for the admission test a second time.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must have passed SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations from any recognised board in Bangladesh or abroad with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing a minimum combined GPA of 8.0. Each exam must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
For indigenous candidates, the combined GPA requirement is 7.0, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in each exam. Candidates who passed SSC before 2021 or HSC before 2023 are not eligible to apply.
Admission test details
The one-hour multiple-choice question (MCQ) test will be based on:
- Physics: 30 marks
- Chemistry: 30 marks
- Biology: 30 marks
- English and General Knowledge: 10 marks
Each correct answer carries 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the admission test score with weighted SSC and HSC results (SSC score × 8 and HSC score × 12). If two candidates score the same, priority will be given to the one with higher marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in HSC.
