The government has excluded female quota from entry-level recruitment of assistant teachers in private schools and colleges.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division issued a circular on 15 May confirming the decision.

Prothom Alo reports that educational qualifications and conditions for assistant teachers in physical education (both school and college level) will remain unchanged in the new government circular under the MPO Policy 2021.

Previously, based on a court order, the government announced 93% of government jobs would be filled on merit and 7% through quotas, allocated for children of freedom fighters, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and the third gender. However, no separate quota for women was included, and unfilled reserved posts will be filled from the general merit list.
