The Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust is set to provide financial support to meritorious students from financially disadvantaged families enrolled in HSC (Technical) and Alim programmes for the 2025–26 academic year.
The announcement was made in an official notice signed by Smriti Karmakar, Managing Director (Additional Secretary) of the Trust.
According to the notice, eligible students can submit applications online from 9:00am on 12 April until 11:59pm on 30 April.
The initiative will cover students newly admitted to higher secondary and equivalent levels, including Class XI and Alim first year, across government and private institutions under the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Department of Technical Education, and Department of Madrasa Education.
Applicants must meet criteria outlined in the Admission Assistance Guidelines–2026 for meritorious students from financially indigent families. To qualify, students are required to have secured a minimum of 60 per cent marks in their previous examination or a GPA of at least 3.50 out of 5.00.
Additional consideration will be given to orphans, students with disabilities or those with disabled guardians, individuals affected by incurable illnesses, children of financially distressed freedom fighters, and those from extremely low-income households. Children of government employees in Grade 20 under the National Pay Scale 2015 are also eligible, subject to verification.
The annual income of the applicant’s parent or guardian must not exceed Tk 300,000. Applicants are required to upload supporting documents, including a certificate from a local government representative confirming financial hardship, an institutional recommendation, birth certificate, parents’ NID copies, a recent photograph, and valid bank account details.
