Public university teachers to receive up to Tk3 Lakh in research grants from UGC

The University Grants Commission (UGC) will offer research grants to faculty members at public universities, with individual allocations ranging from Tk2.6 lakh to Tk3 lakh. The funding aims to support original research across various disciplines.
According to an official notice, interested applicants must complete the designated form and submit their proposals online by 16 July via the UGC website.
Teachers in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and business disciplines will be eligible for grants of Tk2.6 lakh, while those in science and technology fields may receive up to Tk3 lakh.
The call is open to all faculty members of public universities. However, lecturers must hold a PhD to be eligible. Applicants currently engaged in other UGC-funded projects must complete those before applying again. Researchers may not submit proposals under multiple categories, though they may serve as co-researchers on another project if not listed as the principal investigator.
Grant recipients must adhere to UGC’s terms for fund utilisation and project execution. Further details and application guidelines are available at www.ugc.gov.bd.
