The Dhaka Education Board has awarded GPA-5 to 286 more candidates following the re-evaluation of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) results.

Among them, three candidates moved from a pass grade to GPA-5. Additionally, 293 students who had previously failed have now passed after re-evaluation, reports Prothom Alo. The reviewed results were published today (10 August).

According to Md Manjurul Kabir, senior system analyst at the Dhaka Education Board, a total of 92,676 candidates applied for the review of 222,533 answer scripts. Following the process, the grades of 2,946 candidates were changed.

This year’s SSC and equivalent exam results were published on 10 July. Under the nine general education boards, 1,479,310 students sat for the SSC exams, of whom 1,006,554 passed. The pass rate stood at 68.04%, down from last year’s 83.77%.

Compared to last year, the number of GPA-5 achievers dropped by 38,827, with 125,018 students securing the top grade. After the re-evaluation, that figure has now increased slightly.
