Team Ababil Soars: Bangladeshi Team Lands Top Spot in NASA’s CanSat 2025

Team Ababil, representing Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh, has achieved a remarkable 6th global ranking with a 98.2% score in the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) phase of the CanSat Competition 2025. Out of 65 elite teams, they secured a coveted spot among the final 40, which includes 20 teams from the USA and 20 international teams.

Organised by the American Astronautical Society and NASA, the competition challenges teams to design a satellite within a soda can’s dimensions. Team Ababil demonstrated exceptional proficiency by developing a system that collects environmental data via sensors, establishes robust ground station communication, and incorporates a parachute with an autogyro descent mechanism. Their innovative design and technical prowess have positioned them as a top contender. They will now proceed to the launch week in Monterey, Virginia, USA, from 5-9 June, for the final round, with high hopes for success in the Critical Design Review (CDR) phase.
