Bangladesh will take part in the 27th International Robot Olympiad (IRO), scheduled to be held from 17 to 21 December in Gold Coast, Australia.

A 10-member Bangladeshi team will leave the country on 14 December. The ICT Division and the Department of Information and Communication Technology of the Government of Bangladesh are supporting the delegation.

The Bangladesh Open Source Network organised the national selection process, which included an online qualifying round on 29–30 August and the national phase of the IRO Bangladesh Open 2025 held on 12–13 September at the University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka. Winners from the creative movie, creative category and physical computing category advanced to a training camp, where students were assessed using multiple performance criteria to select the national team for the International Robot Olympiad.

The members of Bangladesh’s team for the 27th IRO are:
• Jubaidah Jafrin and Nafiya Bashar Suhani (Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College)
• Mohammad Zarif Bin Salek, Khondoker Mushfiq-ul-Islam and Mohammad Mashroor Arefin Bhuiyan (Dhaka Residential Model College)
• Nusaeeba Tajrin Tanisha (YWCA Higher Secondary Girls’ School)
• Jaima Zahin Wara (William Carey Academy)
• Priyanti Das (Scholastica)
• Ridoyan Rabbani (Ideal School and College)
• Mohammad Abdullah Al Titu (Ananda Mohan College)

The team will be coached by Mishal Islam, with M Tanzim Al Islam Dibas serving as assistant coach. A A Munir Hasan, President of the Bangladesh Open Source Network, will lead the team. Professor Dr Lafifa Jamal of the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Dhaka, who is also a member of the central committee of the International Robot Olympiad, will take part in the event.

Bangladesh has been participating in the competition since 2018. Over the past seven years, Bangladeshi teams have earned 83 medals at the International Robot Olympiad, including 14 gold medals.
