Tripartite agreement signed for online verification of academic certificates

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, and the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) programme have signed a tripartite agreement to streamline and secure the online verification of academic certificates for students pursuing higher education abroad.

The agreement, signed at the UGC office on 18 February, will allow students from UGC-affiliated universities to pay verification fees through the national payment gateway ‘EkPay’ on the MyGov platform.

Under this initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will establish the necessary guidelines for implementing the Apostille system, while UGC will instruct universities on its execution and provide access to the integrated online verification system. The initiative aims to save students time, effort, and expenses while reducing bureaucratic delays.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UGC, and a2i were present at the signing ceremony.
