Women entrepreneurs to get Tk125cr boost in FY26

To encourage women to pursue entrepreneurship, the government has proposed allocating Tk125 crore in the fiscal year 2025-26.The announcement was made by Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed during his budget speech today (2 June).
“To ensure women’s safety, skill-based programmes have been launched through the National Women’s Training and Development Academy, with training also being provided at the upazila level through women’s training centres,” he said.
He added that under the Vulnerable Group Development (VGD) programme, 20,000 selected women have already received training as part of broader efforts to empower women and reduce poverty.
“To further improve the business environment for women entrepreneurs and strengthen their economic empowerment, I propose allocating Tk125 crore in the next fiscal year,” the adviser said.
