As the golden hues of Falgun begin to paint the sky, Dhaka University once again finds itself at the heart of celebration. Among the many festivities that mark the arrival of spring, one stands out—not just for its music but for the energy it brings to campus life. Falgun Sangeet Utshob 1431 was organized by the FBS Music Wing.
A tradition that sets the tone for spring
Held on 13 February, 2025, at the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) premises, this annual festival has become synonymous with the first sounds of spring at DU. Established in 2015, the FBS Music Wing was born out of a desire to go beyond the usual academic routine and create a space where students could express themselves through music.
Over the years, the club has carved a name for itself, and this festival remains its most anticipated event, bringing together students from across the campus.
An afternoon of music, energy and festivity
From midday till evening, the festival was a melodic journey, featuring 15 vibrant performances by the FBS Music Wing’s most talented artists.
As the sun dipped lower, the atmosphere turned electric with the much-awaited headline performance by Arbovirus—a name that needs no introduction in the Bangladeshi rock scene. Their setlist was a perfect crescendo, sending waves of energy through the crowd, making it a performance to remember.
Backed by big names
This year, the festival was powered by BRAC Bank as the title sponsor, with IPDC Finance adding its support. The Business Standard served as the official media partner, ensuring that the event reached beyond the walls of DU.
A celebration of colours, music and youthful Spirit
The Falgun Sangeet Utshob was a celebration of youth, creativity, and tradition.
As Falgun 1431 unfolds, this event has already set the perfect rhythm for the season—one that will echo in memories long after the last note has faded.
