“Jacob Peralta is my best detective. He likes putting away bad guys and he loves solving puzzles. The only puzzle he hasn’t solved is how to grow up,”- Terrence “Terry” Jeffords
From a rebellious dude who always wanted to break the rule and wanted to be like a guy from the “Die Hard” movie and later become a family man of one son, Jake Peralta truly got an evolution that taught amazing lessons.
Speaking of Jake Peralta from the Brooklyn Nine-Nine played by Andy Samberg gives some worthwhile life lessons to take some notes on.
Before going into the details of the life lessons, let us get an illustration of the series named “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”. It is a cop-based sitcom show created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur shows the journey of other fellow detectives named Rosa Diaz, Terrence “Terry” Jeffords, Amy Santiago, Charles Boyle, Gina Linetti, Michael Hitchcock, and Norm Scully under the leadership of their new captain, Raymond Holt at their 99th precinct of the NYPD.
Throughout the 8 seasons, consisting of a total of 153 episodes, we can see the thrilling journey of the team with emotions, adventures, love, and solving the cases together. Unlike other characters in the series, Jake’s overall character buildup since episode one shows that having great coworkers who are more likely to be family members can boost your ability to be more mature and elegant. However, some of these factors make me amazed that I get some life lessons! Here are some of the lessons that I got from him.
Stay with a funny face: Being a police officer means you need to always be in a serious mood since it’s a job with great pressures, but despite being a police officer, Jake knows how to cheer his fellow officers and entertain them with funny vibes.
Be a family person: Growing up in a broken family, Jake never abandons his own family. After getting married to his co-worker Amy, Jake is always for this family, and when their first child is born, he decides to quit the force for the betterment of his kid and tells Amy to pursue her dream. That is amazing, which shows how affectionate he is for his family.
Always supportive of the team: Regardless of having different types of co-workers with different morals and values, Jake always worked with them with great empathy in every case. That’s what makes him a great supportive man. He even provided them with care for their matters as well.
Be “cool” in every tough situation: Whenever Jake got into a serious matter, he always tried to remain cool by saying the catchphrase “cool, cool, cool”. Having a sensitive mind, this catchphrase gives a glimpse of how to cool down in tough situations.
Make the caption proud: Jake’s relationship with commanding officer Captain Holt was more like a professional relationship. He always tried to make him proud, and throughout the series, the bond between him and the captain was an example that started with a not-so-good first impression at the beginning but later ended with an unforgettable bond, thanks to Jake’s determination to this and commitment to his caption. So in the end, not everyone can find Jake an inspirational character, but for me, the person shakes me up to move around the pavement with no stress and rather do everything in a cool way!
