Quota in DU admission test: Only children of Freedom Fighters eligible, not grandchildren

In the undergraduate programme for the 2024-25 academic year at Dhaka University, only the children of freedom fighters will be eligible for admission under the freedom fighter quota. Grandchildren will no longer be considered under this quota, as stated in a notice signed by the acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed.

This announcement was made as an amendment to a previous admission notice. The notice specifies:
“From the 2024-25 academic year, only the children of freedom fighters will be eligible for the freedom fighter quota in undergraduate admissions. Grandchildren will not be considered. Additionally, the admission test for the science unit, originally scheduled for 1 February, has been rescheduled to 15 February. The deadline for applications has also been extended from 25 November to 27 November at 11:59pm.”
