Responsibilities & Context

Project Summary

  • The Executive Development Centre (EDC), under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, has been established at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University, to offer the Postgraduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM).

About BIGD

  • By influencing policy and practice through rigorous research and quality academic programs, BIGD aims to promote innovation in governance and development processes toward a more just and prosperous society. Partnering with academics worldwide, BIGD conducts multi-methods research on governance and development issues in close collaboration with several crucial departments of the Government of Bangladesh, large non-profits such as BRAC, and international organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. BIGD oversees BRAC International’s Independent Research and Evaluation Cell (IERC), which works in ten countries across Asia and Africa. BIGD also hosts the Country Office of the International Growth Centre (IGC), London School of Economics (LSE); and the ED of BIGD heads the IGC Country Office.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • Perform administrative tasks related to the advertisement, application process, admission test and result publications, etc.
  • Prepare class schedules for on-campus/online classes and internship in accordance with the set criteria of the project and Brac University, maintain communication with faculty members, and manage training materials and logistics.
  • Provide entry of student enrolment and class attendance data on training management software (TMS).
  • Provide assistance in planning and preparation of internal meetings and other related issues.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work area.
  • Ensure smooth and timely logistic support for all activities of the EDC Programme.
  • Arrange all travel and other logistic support and prepare expenses and invoices thereon.
  • Arrange for travel and logistical support for Project Staff and stakeholders inside and outside EDC.
  • Coordinate administrative and logistical support required to organize program events including orientation, workshops, etc.
  • Prepare and update the training-related reports, trainees’ data, communication to the trainees, results, and other related documents.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by EDC’s directors.

Requirements

Education: Minimum MBA or master’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university in Bangladesh.

Experience: At least 2 years

Additional Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an academic institution, government, semi-government, or autonomous organization.
