Finance and Administration Officer | Water & Life Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Fin Admin Manager the FA Officer will carry out the following tasks:

1. Maintain an accurate accounting activity in Odoo:

    • Ensure accounting entries in Odoo, including supportive documents
    • Check Odoo posting and attachments compliance with internal policies
    • Participate to the financial yearly closure of W&L Bangladesh and SJP
    • Support BFAO in accounting if needed
    • Assist external audits by providing necessary documentation

    2. Ensure Administrative and Procurement operations according to donor requirements and internal policies:

    • Check procurement document compliance with internal policies
    • Advise teams on procurement policies
    • Participate in internal audit and support external audits
    • Draft of all kinds of contracts/agreement/enlistment/MoU

    3. Participate to Administrative legal work to comply with national regulations:

    • Prepare the yearly tax Return of SJP.
    • Participate in maintaining a smooth relation with NBR for VAT and Tax update.
    • Participate in maintaining a smooth relation with NGOAB for FD6, FD4, Fund release, work permit etc.
    • Assist FAM for DC certificate approval.

    4. Manage HO facilities:       

    • Oversee HO administration, including procurement, logistics, and office management.
    • Organise an up-to-date inventory with the office assistant.
    • Organise Office Assistant and Caretaker work·       
    • Ensure transparency and cost-effectiveness in purchases and contract management for HO facilities

    5. Participate in the optimisation of the organisation’s tools and procedures:

    • Participate in the development of organizational procedure within the department·       
    • Ensure a legal sector watch·       
    • Participate in the capitalisation process·       
    • Participate in transversal ad-hoc projects within BWW·       
    • Participate in intercountry and transversal working groups.

    Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA)
    • BBA, MBA in Finance/Accounting.

    Experience

    • 2 to 5 years
    • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

    Additional Requirements

    • Professional English level
    • Professional knowledge in Accounting & Accounting Software
    • Good level of knowledge on national procurement policy and rules
    • Good level of knowledge in Excel and data base user
    • Knowledge on audit process, Familiarity with donor regulations, Knowledge on NGOAB, Knowledge on ERP is an asset
